[Hi Steve, we work with schools and churches with a year round fundraiser recycling used laser and inkjet cartridges and cellphones.
We provide the flyers and boxes and it is an easy program.
Where are you located?
Good luck

Hi,

Guess I'm the first poster in the fundraising forum. Cool

We're looking for some new things to try for our church fundraiser.

Does anyone have a good idea or two that they're willing to share?

Thanks!

Steve

Hi Steve,

My name is Dolores and I own Seacoast Candle Co. I specialize in fundraisers. I offer more than "just candles"...I have container candles, pillar candles, votive candles, bath salts, bath gels and body lotion, fire starters for fireplaces, accessories, wax dipped bears, smelly jelly jars, room freshener sprays...please visit my website at www.seacoastcandle.com

Everything is hand poured. I never use false advertising...I will not tell you my candles are triple scented. I scent my candles with the maximum amount of fragrance oil that the particular wax will "hold"...all my candles have great cold and hot throws...I will customize your fundraise to include whichever items you want. I can also customize your labels to include a scripture or your church name etc. Your church will earn 40 - 50 % of all the sales depending upon the item.

I look forward to hearing from you,
Dolores

Hi Steve,

I'm from Calvary Church in Costa Mesa, California, and we raised around $8000 this past month through FastTrack Fundraising's Discount Card Fundraiser.

Thought it might be of interest to you:
http://www.fasttrackfundraising.com/discountcardprogram.php

The good thing about it is that we were able to promote the message of Jesus Christ through the Christmas season with the cards, as well as raise money.

If you get in touch with them, let them know Justin C. said "hi". They're a great bunch there.

I discovered this site that lets your members sell items they no longer use and the money goes to your organization. It seems like a really good concept. They even have a national shipping account so there is no out of pocket expence for anyone, including the person donating the item. If you organize a fundraiser through them, your members have a no cost way to donate to you. Their site is http://www.donateauction.com
below is some info about them:

About Us
We understand that most people have items of value that they no longer use. Unfortunately, most charitable organazations are unable to accept small, individual donations or collections of items. We help you turn those unused items into a cash donation for your favorite charity or cause. Everyone wins!!

We started Donate Auction with one goal, help charitable and other organizations raise funds with no out-of-pocket expense for them, or the people contributing to the organization. This means that there is no cost to use our service. If the item needs to be shipped, shipping costs are factored into the auction price, therefore allowing people to donate items with no out-of pocket expense.

Who We Benefit
Organizations

We offer a no cost way to raise funds for your organization by offering your contributors valuable goods to purchase that benefit your organization. Many other fundraisers require your members to go door-to-door or attempt to peddle items to their family members. Often, the person buying these items is only doing so because they want to help the organization raise funds, not because they actually want the item. With our service, you can raise funds and offer contributors valuable goods and services that they actually want.

Donators (sellers)

We understand that most people have items of valuable that they no longer use. Unfortunately, most charitable organizations cannot use these items. We help you turn those unused items into a cash donation for your favorite charity. In most cases, you get a tax deduction. Everyone wins!!

Contributors (buyers)

You want to help a particular organization, but don't want to purchase candy bars, magazine subscriptions, or other common fundraiser items. You can purchase items that you actually want on DonateAuction.com and still help your favorite charitable organization.
